I moved to South Devon with my family when I was nine months old, and was influenced by the coastline, of the area from an early age. We lived in walking distance from a number of beaches, and visited them all year round. We would collect mussels, winkles and firewood and I began to notice that each beach had its own colours, reflections, shapes, smells and tidal behaviour.

I became interested in the effects of weathering and erosion whilst studying at London Metropolitan University, and experimented with chemical recipes and natural processes to represent the textures and patinas I saw on Dartmoor and along the shoreline.

After graduating I produced a collection made from cast starfish and shells, and also jewellery constructed from precious metal and found sea-worn glass. These screw together, allowing the wearer to choose their own pieces.

I also produce accessories for men such as keyrings and cufflinks with areas of maps set in them, silver chip forks, toothpicks, collar stiffeners, drinking straws and ice cream spoons.

My work is exhibited every year at the International Jewellery Fair, Earls Court and the Open Weekends at Great Western Studios. Galleries include Leeds City Art Gallery, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Architecture Centre, Bristol, Kina Designer Gallery, New Zealand and Glas Galerie, Linz.

Publications include Arena Magazine, Crafts Magazine, The London Magazine and Time Out Shopping Guide. I am a part-time jewellery tutor at The London Metropolitan University and the City Literary Institute, London.
